1. How can I enter the Music Sciences department?
First of all, candidates who will apply must be graduated from high school or equivalent schools. Each year, the exam calendar and regulations are announced on the website of our faculty. Candidates prefer the Department of Music Sciences online from the system if they provide the required base score in the Higher Education Institutions Exam-Basic Proficiency Test published in the Special Ability Exam Application Guide. Then, special talent applications are carried out in two stages on the specified dates. However, due to the fact that the worldwide Covid-19 Pandemic is worrying for the health of our country and the regional-local course of the epidemic, students were accepted with the "Central Placement" score, specific to 2020-2021.

2. What are the stages of the aptitude test?
It consists of two stages. In the first stage, one, two, three, four voices, melody and rhythm repetitions given from the piano are done. Those who are successful qualify for the second stage. In the second stage, a playing and singing exam is conducted to measure musicality and performance. (Required items in the first and second stage exams can be updated, may vary, please check the “Special Ability Exam Application Guide” of the year to take the exam.) ‍

3. What are the admission and registration conditions to the Music Sciences department?
Candidates' 1st Stage Exam Score, 2nd Stage Exam Score are evaluated over 100 points and their arithmetic average is obtained and Special Ability Test Score (SATS) is obtained. As a result of this calculation, candidates with a Special Ability Test Score (ÖYSP) of 70 and above are taken into consideration. Candidates are ranked according to the Placement Score (PS) determined by applying the formula in the "SELECTION METHOD WITH SPECIAL ABILITY EXAM" specified in the Student Selection and Placement Center-Higher Education Institutions Exam manual, starting with the highest score. Candidates as many as the quota number are declared as principal. Main candidates are in the registration process by providing the required documents on the specified dates.

4. What are the physical facilities of the department?
Within the Music Sciences department, there are 10 individual instrument study rooms, 8 individual piano study rooms, 1 performance hall, and classrooms where theoretical and applied lessons related to the field of music are held.

7. What are the graduation requirements?
This department is subject to the first stage degree system with 240 ECTS credits in the field of Music Sciences in higher education. When the program is completed successfully and the program qualifications are met, the graduation from the Department of Music Sciences is graduated with a Bachelor's degree. In addition, each student is obliged to make a project work on a subject to be determined with his / her advisor (in the 8th semester) and to explain / defend this project with visual and oral presentation. Students who do not complete the Graduation Project within the specified period or who are not found “Successful” cannot obtain the right to graduate.

8. What are the career opportunities after graduation?

After graduation, education in the Department of Music Sciences aims to teach the knowledge, skills and competencies required to examine music as an artistic and cultural phenomenon, and provides scientific, artistic, cultural and knowledge on the subject. Among the post-graduation job opportunities, specialties regarding promotion and public relations in the relevant units of the Municipal Directorates of Culture and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Culture come to the fore. Our students can also work as Music Teachers in institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education (such as state schools, private schools, private music courses, public education centers) by taking the formation difference courses of Education Faculties from outside. Students can apply to the Fine Art Education Department of the Faculty of Education or to the master's and proficiency in arts programs in other branches of art that accept students from the field.
