A Hat Making Workshop was Organized in the SDÜ Faculty of Fine Arts, Textile and Fashion Department

The workshop leader, Duygu Güleş, a graduate of the department, works as a designer at the Antalya State Opera and Ballet Hat Flower Workshop. The workshop was held with the participation of Textile and Fashion Design students and faculty members, as well as students from different departments of GSF.

In the first part of the workshop, Duygu Güleş gave a presentation on the historical significance, uses, and symbolic value of hats as the most important accessory in clothing. In the second part of the workshop, students examined different hat models and had the opportunity to trace each one. Here, each student prepared patterns to produce the hat model of their choice. Following an introduction to the fabrics, auxiliary materials, and accessories used in hats and an examination of the color chart, the patterns transferred to the fabrics were prepared for sewing. In the third part of the workshop, students sewed their hats using the fabric and model of their choice.

Duygu Güleş shared details about the materials, design, patterns, and production involved in hat design and evaluated the hats produced by the students. Throughout the workshop, technical and theoretical information about hat design, an important accessory used in fashion, was shared for use in the students' classes. The workshop ended with great interest from the students and the presentation of their own hats.
