A Meaningful Touch to the Mehmet Acar Social and Cultural Reading House with the Silhouette of Atatürk
The Mehmet Acar Social and Cultural Reading Room, established in the town of Senir in the Keçiborlu district of Isparta, will offer various educational and activity opportunities for both women and men. The building will house a classroom for adult education courses for women, and a meeting and reading area for men. Additionally, functional spaces such as a village headman's office will also be located within the building.
The project is being realized through the initiative of Gökhan Tokalı, the head of the Kuşçular neighborhood in Senir town, with the support of Senir Mayor Ömür Yorulmaz, Keçiborlu Municipality, Isparta Municipality, and the residents of the neighborhood. In this meaningful step, the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Genç, the Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Tuğba Kodal, artist Havva Genç, and graduate student Şefika Sağlam contributed to the project with a mural. The Atatürk silhouette painted on the wall of the reading room by the team adds a special meaning to the project. The mural stands out as a powerful symbol representing the Turkish nation's determination in its struggle for independence.
The Mehmet Acar Social and Cultural Reading Room aims to preserve both the historical and artistic heritage of the local community as a meeting point where art, education, and cultural activities come together
