SDU Faculty of Fine Arts Students' “MINI PRINT and EX-LIBRIS” Exhibition

The “MINI PRINT and EX-LIBRIS” exhibition, featuring works by Ismahan Mohamed Ujub and Merve Makaraç, final-year students in the Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Süleyman Demirel University, is now open to visitors in the GSF corridor.

Prof. Oktay Köse stated that students produced their works as part of the original printmaking course and that 30 works were exhibited.

Regarding her work, Merve Makaraç stated: “In my print works, I used a narrative language by synthesizing animation and illustration. I try to express myself by approaching proverbs and idioms from a postmodern perspective. In my works, I focused on irony, rhythm, and movement, striving to create a sense of continuous flow rather than static images.”

Ismahan Mohamed Ujub said, “Most of my work is related to my own culture. I am Somali. My works are inspired by our ancient beliefs. I aim to reflect raw beauty and simplicity in my work. In my artistic language, I believe in the principle of ‘Less is more’. This is a philosophy I embrace not only in my art, but also in my lifestyle.”
