The documentary "Is Turkish Carpet Art Dying?" was presented at an academic event in Berlin by Y.E.E.
The documentary "Is Turkish Carpet Art Dying?", a Turkish-French-German co-production directed by Nuray Şahin and advised by Prof. Dr. Mustafa GENÇ, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Süleyman Demirel University (SDÜ), was screened at the Turkish Carpet and Kilim Weaving Culture event held at the Yunus Emre Institute (YEE) Berlin Center.
The program, held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, was supported by the Berlin Consul General İlker Okan Şanlı. Professor Dr. Mustafa Genç and the documentary's director, Nuray Şahin, attended the event, while Damla Saydam, a member of the production team, participated online. Following the documentary screening, Professor Dr. Mustafa Genç gave an academic talk on the historical development of Turkish carpet, rug, and weaving culture, as well as traditional root dyeing techniques. A root dyeing workshop was also held as part of the event, with participants actively taking part in hands-on activities.
The event concluded with the presentation of certificates and gifts.
