1- From which address will the entries to the Distance Education System (OBS) be made?
The Distance Education System (OBS) is integrated into your Student Information System. The address you need to log in is obs.sdu.edu.tr.
2. Do I need any additional software for the distance education system?
Süleyman Demirel University distance education system uses Adobe Connect virtual classroom infrastructure. Therefore, installing Adobe Connect software is important for your participation in the lessons.
3. I have not installed Adobe Connect software, can I participate in live classes?
If you have not installed Adobe Connect software, if your web browser supports it, it will open the meeting as HTML5. However, in this case, you can only be a participant. If the lecturer of your course gives you server authorisation, you cannot share your screen.
4. I don't know my Adobe Connect username and password, what can I do?
Your Adobe Connect username is your student number. Your password is the same as your Student Information System password.
5. I changed my Student Information System password, has my Adobe Connect password also changed?
No, no. Student Information System and Adobe Connect are separate platforms. Therefore, when you change your password on one platform, your password will not change on the other platform.
6. I forgot my Adobe Connect password, how can I change it?
If you forget your Adobe Connect password, you can easily change it via the Student Information System. After logging in to, simply type a new password from the area on your homepage and click the "Change Adobe Connect Password" button.
7. Why doesn't the system give me more courses than I want?
The course ECTS load you will take is limited in the system. You cannot take more courses than the ECTS load you want to take.
8. Why can't I take the courses I want?
Except for the 8-semester course plan, you cannot take more than the semester courses. It is not possible to choose courses other than the elective courses approved by your department.
9. What should I do if my class hours overlap?
It is not possible to take courses with conflicting course hours.
10. Which courses will I take?
You are obliged to take the courses specified in the semester course curriculum
11. How many ECTS will I take each semester?
Your normal semester course load is 30 ECTS. If you want to take courses from below or above, you can take up to 50 ECTS courses if your GPA allows.
12. How many semesters will I take university common elective courses?
You will take 2 semesters in autumn and spring semesters.
13. What happens if I do not take a university common elective course?
You cannot graduate because your ECTS load is not completed.
14. Can I renew my registration without paying my tuition debt?
If you have a tuition debt, you cannot make a transaction without paying.
15. Why do I owe tuition fees?
As soon as your education year extends to the 9th semester, you will have a tuition debt, or if you are studying at a second university, you will have a tuition debt.
16. Why can't I enter the cafeteria?
Your registration will be updated by the cafeteria through the system.
17. Why can't I enter the library?
If you apply through the student information system, your registration will be updated.
18. When are course additions and deletions made?
It is done on the dates specified in the Academic Calendar announced annually.
19. When are the registration renewals? What happens if I do not renew my registration?
Registration renewals are announced in the Academic Calendar of our university, please check. If you do not renew your registration, your academic year will be extended.
20. I forgot my OBS password, what can I do?
If you apply in person with a petition, your password will be notified to you.
21. What is my e-mail address?
You can find out your e-mail address from the My Information section in the student information system.
22. How are adjustment and exemption procedures done? How long do we have to apply? Do I need to come for the application? Can we send the necessary documents by cargo?
Together with the petition filled out through OBS, you must submit the transcript and course contents from your previous university to the department secretariat either by yourself or by cargo. The application period is the first two weeks when the schools open according to the regulation.
23. I am a student who has earned the right to enrol with Vertical Transfer (DGS). What should I do for registration?
You should follow the announcements to be published on the SDU web page.
24. I could not register for my courses in the regular semester. Can I apply for excused registration? When does the application for excused registration start?
You can. Excused course registration applications are made between the dates specified in the academic calendar.
