Art of Illumination

In the education program of Art of İllumination main branch; applied and theoretical education are given in universal cultured book arts, illumination, miniature, calligraphy, ebru, calligraphy, restoration and conservation. The aim of the department is to educate the artists who can handle the Turkish arts in the classical sense together with the aesthetic understanding of the education criteria and features of the age and reach new interpretations. Departmental graduates are entitled to bachelor degree and artist title. Graduates can open their own workshops as independent artists, as well as artistic counseling in private and public institutions. They can work as specialists in the maintenance and repair of old works In museums, libraries and archives. They can work as designers in factories or workshops manufacturing in the fields, textiles, tiles, carpets and so on. They can be academic staff at universities and research institutions. They can work as master trainers in private and public institutions, as researchers in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, or as personnel in the relevant units of the General Directorate of Fine Arts. They can become Visual Arts teachers in the Ministry of National Education.
