Carpet-Rug and Traditional Fabric Patterns Main Branch aims to educate designers and artists who know the techniques, colors, motifs, historical processes and maintenance-repair methods of shuttled and kirkit weaved fabrics that have been matured with the accumulation of different regions and cultures since centuries. This Art Major presents the training programs that will help the students to acquire the necessary knowledge at a sufficient level by carrying out practical studies with the theoretical teaching of materials, patterns, colors and technical information to the students who have attended the course. Carpet-Rug and Traditional Fabric Patterns each year 10 students are admitted with the special talent examination in the main field.
Students, graduated from Carpet-Rug and Traditional Fabric Patterns main branch; they can open their own workshops as an artist; they can make art consultancy in private and public institutions. Students who graduate from this department can work as a staff in the libraries, museums, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, as a researchers in the museum belonging to foundations, in the relevant departments of the General Directorate of Fine Arts. they can perform restoration and conservation expertise in official and special workshops as well as in expertise issues. They can also be academics at universities, education and research institutions related to fine arts, and can work as designers and master trainers in private and public institutions.
